Colon Cancer Current Topics in Colon Cancer

African Americans are at a higher risk for colon cancer.

In general, men and women should be screened for colon cancer starting at age 50. But colon cancer may strike African-Americans at a younger age, so blacks should think about getting screened for colon cancer at around the age of 45. Typically, African Americans are not screened as often as whites.
